What is Massage?

Massage is a scientific method of manipulating the soft tissues of the body to have a specific effect. Its objective is the restoration of function, release of tension and the re-establishment of contours where this is desirable. Massage therapy helps promote relaxation by releasing stress and tension in our bodies.

Why Massage?

Too much unresolved stress in our lives can cause constant muscular tension. This tension and tightness reduces the flow of blood and oxygen to the muscles and organs and restricts lymph supply. Tension creates a tendency for a build up of toxins in the body, and reduces the flow of the more subtle energy. Tension can lead to symptomatic feelings of fatigue, heaviness, aches, and pains, tightness of muscles and stiffness. Muscular tension can increase the likelihood of strains and injuries. Muscular tension also distorts the skeletal structures, which further compounds existing problems, and creates new ones.

A good Massage can increase blood circulation, alleviate tension; improve flexibility, and postural alignment. It can also decrease pain all over the body as well as help to remove waste and toxins leaving the recipient relieved, relaxed, and rejuvenated.
